Women's Basketball Falls At Tennessee Wesleyan, 53-64

Athens, TN |    The Truett McConnell women's basketball team outscored AAC rival Tennessee Wesleyan 15-10 ending the fourth quarter, but despite their late rally, the Bulldogs were able to hold onto their advantage en route to a 64-53 victory over Truett, in Tuesday, Nov. 28 Appalachian Athletic Conference women's basketball action in Athens, TN. The lady bears are now 0-5 in conference play and 2-6 on the season.

The Lady Bears came out strong going point for point early in the first half against the Bulldogs until three minutes remaining when TN Wesleyan made a run offensively to end the quarter 21-14. Jumping out to a 13 point lead early in the second quarter by the Bulldogs, TMU fought back to cut the lead but ended up down by 10 going into the half. 

TN Wesleyan's outscored TMU ending the 3rd quarter up by 15, but the bears retaliated in the 4th with solid defense keeping the bulldogs to only 10 points. In the fourth quarter, Sarah Hartshorn turned the momentum around scoring back to back solid baskets. 

Bralise Reese lead TMU offensively with 13 points while Mikayla Miles trailed behind with 11. The Lady Bears hit 16 of 51 field goals (31.4%), 4 of 13 three point attempts (30.8%), and 17 of 21 free throws (81%). TMU committed 16 turnovers and stole the ball 9 times from the Bulldogs. 

The Lady Bears will resume play traveling Thursday evening, Nov. 30th at St. Andrews. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the men's game following afterwards.
