CLEVELAND, GA. |Â Â Â Â Women's Basketball holds on for Homecoming Victory against Keiser University
The Truett McConnell women's basketball team won their second straight regular season contest as they held Keiser University's offense to just 50 points in a 53-50 win for the Bears in their 2017 Homecoming game. The TMU Lady Bears are now 3-1 in league play before heading into conference games this upcoming Tuesday at Milligan College.
The Lady Bears out shot Keiser with a shooting percentage of 40-28% from the field, 37-10% from the three, and 100-58% from the free throw line. The Bears and Eagles traded baskets early on, but
Sarah Hartshorn changed that, making a big time basket at the end of the first half with an assist by Bralise Reese to give TMU a 1 point lead going into halftime.Â
Bralise Reese came out strong scoring the first five points in the second half to extend TMU's lead 34-28. Up by 8 points going into the 4th quarter, Keiser made a come back quickly cutting the lead to only 4 points with almost four minutes remaining. The two teams went back-and-forth with a one point difference the remainder of the game until
Madison Curtis scored the game winning free throws to seal the win 52-50.
Offensively, TMU's Bralise Reese and
Mikayla Miles each finished the match with 11 points while
Sarah Hartshorn added 10 to help seal the victory before entering conference play.
The Lady Bears will compete against AAC rival Milligan College on the road this Tuesday Nov. 14, at 5:30 pm.Â
