LAURINBURG, NC. |Â Â Â Volleyball falls short on the road in Laurinburg, NC.
The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team fell short on the road Thursday evening against AAC South Division foe St. Andrews University. The lady bears dropped in three sets (25-17, 25-11, 25-21) in Laurinburg North Carolina during the knight's senior night. The lady bears are now 2-11 in the AAC Conference with Columbia College forfeiting the remainder of the 2017 season and 2-16 overall for the year.Â
St. Andrews controlled the match from start to finish, leading the entire match. TMU cut the lead in the third set 21-24, but ultimately fell to the Knights. Shayla Smith lead the lady bears with a whopping 11 kills as she averaged a .240 hitting percentage for the night. Smith also added 2 blocks against the lady knights.Â
The TMU lady bears will resume play Tuesday as they challenge AAC Reinhardt University back home in Cleveland, GA. Gametime starts at 6:30 pm in the Bear Cave. Â
