Cleveland, GA. | The Truett McConnell University volleyball team matched up with Brenau University Friday night in Gainesville, GA.. The Lady Bears would fall short to Point, 0-3, falling to 0-11 on the season and 0-6 in AAC play.

Trailing in the first set 11-25, the Bears went on a run behind Shayla Smith, who had a game high of 7 kills during a run that got TMU in a 21-16 lead. The Bears went on to compete hoping to seal the second set, but came up short when Brenau went on a 9-2 run to secure the win.Going into the third set, the Lady Bears would make a push in taking the momentum, but Brenau University would pull away and take the set and match, 25-14.

Shayla Smith lead the Lady Bears for the night with 7 kills and 3 digs. Abby Maxwell carried the team with 18 assists for TMU.

The Lady Bears will continue play this upcoming Tuesday against Point University in West Point, GA. Game time starts at 6:30 pm for TMU as they compete to seek their first conference win for the season.
