COLUMBIA, S.C. | The Truett McConnell women's basketball team fell on the road Monday night at Columbia International, 61-57. The Bears are now 12-10 on the year.
After a 16-16 first period, the Rams came out firing in the second quarter on both ends of the floor. Offensively, CIU scored 14 points while holding TMU to just four.
The Bears fought back in the second half, however, outscoring and out-shooting the Rams in both the third and fourth quarters, but the Rams did just enough to pull out the win.
Eight Bears finished in the scoring column, led by
Janae' Simpson's 13 points.
Anna Murr added 10 points for TMU.
The Bears will look to get back in the winning column as they jump back into AAC play on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff against Allen in the Bear Cave. The game will serve as part of Coaches vs. Cancer Night, where all proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and White County Relay for Life.
