AUGUSTA, Georgia | The Truett McConnell volleyball team won the Purple Paw Classic hosted by Paine College with a straight sets win over Concordia Saturday afternoon in Augusta. The Bears improve to 4-2 on the season with the win.

TMU won all three sets by a 25-11 score. In the first set, trailing 3-1, Alex Brake led a stretch of 16 straight points. The second set saw the Bears start off with an 8-0 lead on Zykeria Allen's serving. Another 7-0 run for the Bears came when Harris Anne Walker was behind the service line.

In the third set, TMU jumped out to a 14-4 lead and coasted to the Purple Paw Classic victory.

Kendall Hardy led all players with nine kills, while Brake finished with a game-high four aces.

The Bears will jump back in AAC play as they travel to Milligan on Tuesday, with first serve set for 6:30 p.m.
