WALESKA, Ga. | The Truett McConnell volleyball team fell in its first road match of 2016, 3-1, to Reinhardt University Tuesday night. With the loss, the Bears fall to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in AAC play.

The Bears jumped out to an early lead, winning 10 of the first 14 points in set one and forcing an Eagle timeout. Coming out of the timeout, the Bears kept the pressure on, winning five of the next six points to take a 15-5 lead.

After a 25-14 win in set one, the Bears found themselves in a fight for points in set two. The Eagles and TMU traded points until the Eagles pulled away late in the set. Facing seven set points, the Bears clawed all the way back to tie the set at 24-24 behind the serving of Georgia Martin. Reinhardt would squeak out a win, however, in set two, 26-24.

The third and fourth sets were much like the second set with the two sides trading points early and Reinhardt pulling away late en route to the 3-1 win.

Katie Russell and Zykeria Allen led the way for the Bears in kills with 10 each. Reinhardt's Rachel Croce led all players in kills with 12.

The Bears will step out of competition for a week to prepare for Bryan to come to Cleveland on Tuesday, September 6, for a 6:30 p.m. match in the Bear Cave.
