CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell men's soccer team scored three first-half goals in a 6-3 win over Milligan Tuesday afternoon at the TMU Soccer Complex. With the win, the Bears are now 7-8 overall and finish 4-5 in AAC play.
The scoring started in the 15th minute when
Lucas Johansson headed in a corner kick from
Josiah Saydee to take the early lead. Shortly after in the 26th minute,
Joao Costa scored his first of three goals on the night, a penalty kick to take a 2-0 lead. His second came just before halftime to take the 3-0 lead to the break.
After an early Buffalo goal,
Tyrik Francis took a cross from Costa and headed it home to take a 4-1 lead through 52 minutes of play.
Cyril Gadu found the back of the net in the 67th minute on another Costa cross. The Bears' sixth goal came from Costa in the 72nd minute.
TMU outshot Milligan, 25-12, in the match, including a 15-2 advantage in the first half.
The Bears will finish out the season with two non-conference matchups, starting with North Greenville on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Tigerville, S.C.
