CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell women's soccer team dropped a nailbiter to Bob Jones Saturday afternoon, 2-1, at the TMU Soccer Complex. The Bears fall to 7-7 with the loss.
The Bruins opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a penalty kick from Miriam Lozano to put BJU up, 1-0.
TMU answered in the 31st minute with a goal from
Abbey Thompson that tied the game up, but Bob Jones took the lead right back in the 36th minute with another goal from Lozano to bring the game to its final score.
The Bears had nine shots in the second half, but they couldn't find the back of the net.
Prior to the game, the Bears honored their six seniors,
Caylin Carter,
Holly Peppers,
Paige Williams,
Meredith Mellard,
Brianna Ebert and
Victoria Schillinger.
The Bears will jump back into AAC play against Montreat on the road on Wednesday. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
