CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell men's soccer team got back in the winning column with a 2-1 win over Bluefield Saturday afternoon.
Joao Costa did all of the scoring for Truett McConnell in a minute and 24 seconds in the second half. In the 64th minute, Costa took a beautiful pass from
Ignacio Perez and beat the keeper to score the opening goal. Shortly after,
Jordan Moreno gave Costa a long pass down toward the corner and Costa put it home past the keeper.
The Rams cut the lead in half when their Joao, Joao Delgado, found the back of the net in the 84th minute, but the Bears were able to wind out the clock with possession late to keep the game at its final score.
The Bears held a 17-11 advantage in shots over the Rams.
TMU will take on Reinhardt on Wednesday, October 5, in Waleska. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
