CLEVELAND, GA (TMSports) - On Tuesday night, the Lady Bears volleyball team travelled to nearby Toccoa Falls to compete in a non-conference match. Although a slow start to the match gave the opposing Eagles an early lead, the Bears walked away victorious with a 3-0 win.

Despite numerous rallies and consistent defense on the Eagles side of the court, the Lady Bears won the first set 25-19. The second set presented an even tougher challenge as both teams remained neck and neck for 15 points. With the score set at 15-15, the Bears took control of the game and went on a seven-point run to put them in the lead. The Lady Bears won the second set 25-18.

The start of the third set saw the Lady Bears trailing the Eagles 4-7. However, a six-point run behind the serving of Hayley Haskell gave the Bears the momentum they needed to regain control of the set. The Lady Bears began to run a fast offense that proved to be too strong for the Eagles, sealing the victory for the Bears with a score of 25-18.

In just three sets, the Lady Bears totaled 37 kills in the match against Toccoa Falls. Leading the Bears offense once again was freshman outside-hitter Hannah Simpson, who recorded an astounding 13 kills and zero errors. Her teammate Tarryn Long also contributed to the Bears victory, adding 10 kills to their offensive effort. Brittany Foster and Jordan Malaier combined for 33 assists.

Defensively, it was Keri King who led the team in digs with a career-high 28, averaging out to 9.3 digs per set. King's 28 digs is a career-high for the freshman libero, beating out her previous record of the 27 she recorded against Tennessee Temple. King also achieved a personal record of digs in a three-set match, demolishing her previous record of 14 that she recorded against Union College.

King was not alone in achieving such a milestone. Her teammate, Hayley Haskell, recorded 20 digs against the Eagles. This number is also a career-high for the freshman outside-hitter, beating out her previous record of 17. Haskell's 20 digs also marks a personal record for digs in a three-set match, knocking off her previous record of 11 that she recorded against Columbia College this past weekend.
