TM Athletics names Rollins to Softball coaching staff
CLEVELAND, Ga. (TMSports) – Truett-McConnell announced
Colette Rollins, a former player and assistant coach to the Valdosta State University Blaze, as the top assistant coach to the TMC Varsity Softball team and the head coach to the JV team, Monday, June 2.

Jenni Shepard. "Colette brings with her a wealth of knowledge, a passion for the game, and a history of competing and winning at a very high level."
Rollins graduated from South Gwinnett High school in 2008 and accepted a scholarship to play softball at Valdosta State University. During her freshman year, she played first base and her team won a Gulf South Conference Championship. The following year she played first and third base and the VSU Blaze won their second conference championship; Rollins was also voted Most Outstanding Player of the conference tournament. The Blaze added another impressive win to their record and earned the South Regional championships; they were also runners up at the Division 2 National Tournament that year.
In her junior season Rollins played third base and was a designated hitter; that year the VSU Blaze won their third consecutive conference championship and Rollins was voted 1
st Team All-Conference and 2
nd Team All-South Region. She acted as a designated hitter during her senior season and the VSU Blaze won a fourth conference championship, a south regional championship, and won the Division 2 National Championship.
In 2014, Rollins acted as an assistant coach at VSU. That year the Blaze won their sixth consecutive Gulf South Conference Championship, the South Regional Championship, and was the runners-up in the Division 2 National Championship game.
"I am very excited to have the opportunity to further my softball career at Truett McConnell," Rollins said. She began her duties June 2 and will assist Head Varsity Coach,
Jenni Shepard, in all aspects related to the softball program and will be the head coach of the JV program.
