Coach James Hobson is entering into his first season as the assistant women’s volleyball coach. He comes to TMU with extensive experience in coaching and fitness training.

Hobson owned a CrossFit affiliate gym in Northwest Atlanta from 2008-2016, where he led strength and conditioning for more than 700 athletes, including student athletes from Kennesaw State University and local high schools.

Hobson has played sand beach volleyball since 1992 and indoor and grass volleyball since 2017. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's of Arts in Cognitive Science. In 2016, Hobson launched Spider Chalk, a sporting goods manufacturer, and now acts as President.

Coach Hobson, his wife Haley, and four kids, James Michael (10), Beau (8), Scarlett (6) and Grady (3) currently reside in Cleveland, Georgia.
