Sarah Newton is entering her fifth year as the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach in 2027.
Newton has guided TMU Women's Lacrosse players to 26 AAC All-Academic Team honors and three AAC Champions of Character selections (Kaitlyn Morgenroth - 2023, Maddie Donnelly - 2025, Josslyn Munn - 2026). Newton also coached four-year Lady Bear Marlo McBrayer, a two-time 2nd-team AAC All-Conference selection who recorded 132 goals in her Truett McConnell career, with highs of 45 goals in a single season and eight goals in a single game. McBrayer also earned NAIA Offensive Player of the Week under Newton's coaching.
Newton graduated from Loganville High School in 2016, where she was a three sport athlete. She continued her education at Truett McConnell University, where she graduated with a degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and the Great Commission in 2021.
The TMU alum is familiar with the Appalachian Athletic Conference and competing schools since she was on the TMU Softball team from 2016-2021. During her time on the Softball team, in 2018, the Lady Bears earned the program’s first-ever titles of AAC Regular Season Champions, Tournament Champions, NAIA National Top 25 Poll and made their first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
She serves as an Assistant Professor of Biology in the College of Life and Health Sciences and is an alumna of Auburn University, where she earned her Master of Agriculture in Crop, Soil and Environmental Science.
Newton currently resides in Demorest, Georgia, living with her husband, Aaron and her daughter, Parker.
