Alcovy: As a freshman, Wimbush had the opportunity to be a part of a team who ranked 3rd in the 3A-AAAA 4A State tournament, 5A- Sub Region Champions, and made it to the Final Four. She also received her letter as being the only freshman on Varsity. Her sophomore year, they were once again Region Champions and made it to the Sweet 16. The Lady Tigers then received a new coach her junior year, David Baker. She began appearing in local newspapers being seen as the Lady Tigers upcoming leader and Athlete of the Week. Wimbush soon became the Team Captain and also received MVP for Defensive Man Award. Continuing to be Team Captain her senior year, Ayanna received Athlete of the Week three more times and made Second Team All- area girls' team. She had a career high of 24 points and three assists against Marietta High School. Wimbush once again received MVP for Defensive Man Award of the year. Aside from the sports, Ayanna participated in five clubs (HOSA, FBLA, Key Club, National Honor Society, and Beta Club), maintained a 3.5 GPA, and graduated with Honors.
