High School: Lawson is a Hope scholar who scored a 28 on her ACT. She was a member of the All-District Team in 2011-2012 and had the highest field goal percentage at Sequatchie County High School that season. She was voted Most Improved in 2009 by her teammates and received the Defensive Award in 2010.

Freshman Year at TMC: Lawson is a member of the Dean’s List and was voted Most Improved by her teammates in the 2012-2013 season. On November 30, 2012, Lawson scored a career high 12 points. She grabbed a career high 7 rebounds on December 1, 2012 against Belhaven.

Sophomore Year at TMC: Lawson is a member of the Dean’s List and was voted Most Improved by her teammates in the 2012-2013 season. On February 2, 2014, Lawson scored a season high 10 points. She grabbed a career high 9 rebounds against Columbia College and Clearwater Christian. 

Junior Year at TMC: Lawson was a member of the Presidential Dean's List and received the AAC Academic All-Conference award. On December 15, 2014, Lawson scored a career high of 16 points against Hiwassee College. 

Personal: Alyssa Lawson is the daughter of Grayland and Bea Lawson. She was born on May 23, 1994 and has two younger brothers . Lawson is majoring in Education.
