Austin Bishop enters his first year as assistant coach for Truett McConnell’s baseball program. Bishop graduated TMU in 2019 with a degree in Business Administration.
A four-year starter for TMU (2015-2019), Bishop hit .329 with 221 hits, 31 doubles, 148 runs scored, 88 RBI’s, .431 OBP, and 2 homeruns in his career.
In his senior season, Bishop hit .390 with 12 doubles, 30 RBI’s, and 2 homeruns. He was selected to the Second Team All-Conference for the AAC and became Player of the Week in week three of conference play after hitting for the cycle for the first time in TMU baseball program history.
Bishop was awarded the Male Academic Athlete of the year in 2019 and also made the Champions of Character team three years in a row (2016-2019).
Coach Mike Croley says, “Austin embodies what TMU baseball program is about, spiritually, academically, and athletically.”
Bishop leads one of TMU baseball's discipleship groups and is currently pursuing his master’s in business administration.
