CLEVELAND, Ga. – Truett McConnell women's volleyball travels over to Spartanburg, S.C. for an Appalachian Athletic Conference road match against Spartanburg Methodist College tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m.
 
The Lady Bears are 15-6 overall and hold a 5-2 conference record in AAC play. They struggled this past week overall with a 1-2 stretch, marked by losses to Columbia International and Bryan and a Friday night win over Tennessee Wesleyan.
 
In their first season of AAC play in 2025, the Pioneers swept the series over TMU, winning the first match 3-1 and the second match in straight sets. In the 3-1 loss, the Lady Bears won the first set before they dropped sets two, three and four.
 
SMC has struggled in the 2026 season, entering Tuesday evening with a 2-13 overall record which includes a 1-6 start in AAC competition. It has lost its past three matches to Montreat (3-1), Union Commonwealth (3-0) and Johnson (3-2), competing an 0-3 week. The team has fared better at home, going 2-2 in four home matches.
 
Offensively for the Pioneers, Hana Vucinic leads the way with 2.55 kills per set and 112 overall. She also has 12 aces on the year, second behind Kennedy Cole with 15. Both players also lead on defense with 144 digs for Vucinic and 107 for Cole. Setter Katie Boldin has 147 assists, good for 3.59 per set.
 
For Truett, Faith Clarkson is the kill leader with 1.93 per set and 143 total while Julia Fisher is recording 1.72 kills per set. Recently, Alexis Mills has taken control with four straight double-digit kill matches. Caroline Yeager and Grace Lamontagne control the set with 237 and 231 assists, respectively. The former had a standout performance on Sept. 19, producing 21 assists and 16 digs in the 3-2 win over Reinhardt. Yeager also leads on total aces with 32.
 
Adleigh Schwier is the primary libero with 156 total digs and 2.08 digs per set. As a team, TMU ranks first in total aces and aces per set.
