CLEVELAND, Ga. – No. 6 Truett McConnell women's soccer takes a break from Appalachian Athletic Conference play this weekend with a home match against No. 22 Georgia Gwinnett tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the TMU Soccer Complex.
 
The Lady Bears will fac their third ranked team in 2026, entering with a 1-1-1 record vs. such teams. In comparison, the Grizzlies have compiled a 1-2 record vs. ranked teams.
 
Both team have played a total of eight times since 2013, with TMU having the slight edge with a 4-3-1 record. The Lady Bears have won the past three matches in the series which includes a 1-0 win in 2025.
 
Georgia Gwinnett is 4-3 overall in the 2026 campaign, which includes a 1-2 mark on the road. The Grizzlies are coming off a 4-0 shutout over Point powered by three second half goals. They have defeated No. 9 William Carey but possess losses to No. 13 Life and No. 25 SCAD-Savannah, which TMU defeated 1-0 in its season opener.
 
Leading the team offensively is Hannah Lorenz, who has totaled six goals through seven matches for 12 points overall. She is also the overwhelming shooting leader on the Grizzlies with 35 total shots and 18 on target. Lorenz has helped secure half of the team's wins with two game winning shots. Alliyah Rosales has also produced for GG, scoring three goals and adding an assist for seven points.
 
For the Lady Bears, reigning AAC Offensive Player of the Week Isabella Hodson is tied third in the conference for the most goals with four on the year. Erin Ward, while manning a defensive backfield that has allowed just three goals on the year, has also contributed offensively with three assists. Joanna Funes is the shot leader on the team with 14 total shots through five games.
