CLEVELAND, Ga. – Truett McConnell University men's soccer (3-1-2 overall, 2-0 AAC) remains spotless in conference play after a 6-0 victory over the Columbia College Koalas (1-2 overall, 0-2 conference) at the TMU Soccer Complex on Wednesday.
The result marks TMU's third straight win and clean sheet as well as their seventh win against Columbia College all-time, moving their record against them to a perfect 7-0.
Five different Bears claimed goals in the contest, with senior
Roman Reynolds claiming the game-winner just 42 seconds into the match. The score was created by
Jovica Lazarevic as the team's leader in goals earned his first assist of the season. Insurance was provided 24 minutes later with
Pablo Farrona's fourth goal of the year, a beautiful shot created by acrobatics from Reynolds that was placed in an unreachable spot in the bottom right corner.
Hector Herraiz closed out the scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal in the 38
th minute.
After drawing following a 3-0 lead in their home opener last month, Truett McConnell made sure to come out of Wednesday's match with a victory by adding three more goals in the second half.
Jovica Lazarevic scored in both the 65
th and 76
th minute, matching his goal total from 2025 (eight) in just six games.
Thomas Hill capped the night with his second goal of the season off a breakaway in the 83
rd minute that started from a cross-field pass by
Carlos Ruiz.
Hill was pleased with his and the team's efforts: "I think it was a good result, we started off strong. We came out first minute, put a goal on them. Defensively strong and sound all game. Everyone who came on made an impact, and I think we can hold our heads high on that."
Jakob Hendrickson recorded his third straight clean sheet with one save bumping his season save percentage up to 88%.
