CLEVELAND, Ga. – Truett McConnell University (0-0-2) will continue to seek their first win of the season after tying with Brewton-Parker Christian University (0-2-1) today 1-1.

Pablo Farrona brought the Bears early momentum with an unassisted goal in the seventh minute. Truett McConnell continued to put pressure on the Barons throughout the remainder of the first half, winning the shot battle 13-4 and forcing Barons keeper Thomas Hernandez to make four saves.

Only 11 seconds were needed for Brewton-Parker to find the equalizer after the start of the second half as freshman Aitor Novoa finished a pass from teammate Biel Ibanez for his first goal of the season.

Both teams continued to battle throughout the remainder of the match, with each side finding possession in their final thirds in the 90th minute. The Barons gave the final effort on a shot attempt that was pushed wide of the left post, and the contest ended even.

Both keepers played major roles in holding the game level as a total of 40 shots were recorded in the match. Sophomore
Jakob Hendrickson received his first ever collegiate start for the Bears recording four saves while playing all 90 minutes.
