CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 17, 2025) – On Wednesday, the No. 15 Truett McConnell University's women's soccer team hosted No. 25 Tennessee Wesleyan University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up where the Lady Bears secured a huge victory, 1–0. TMU rises to an overall record of 5-0-1, 3-0 AAC.
 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first half TMU came out aggressive, generating chances of their own while withstanding pressure from the Bulldogs. Despite the pressure the Lady Bears defense held firm, keeping the game even at the half, 0-0. The tide changed in the 62nd minute when 
Saige Peterson connected off an assist from 
Annabel Trauschke, giving TMU the 1–0 advantage. Tennessee Wesleyan pushed to equalize late, but the Lady Bears' defense stayed organized, while goalkeeper 
Danica Wittmann came up with key saves to preserve the shutout and secure the win.
 
LEADERS
Peterson led the way with one goal and three shots all on goal. Trauschke followed with one assist, while Wittmann tallied two saves, securing the clean sheet.

TMU will travel to face Union Commonwealth University on Saturday, September 20 for an AAC match-up. Kick-off set for 1:00 p.m.
