CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 17, 2025) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Tennessee Wesleyan University, where the Bears earned a hard-fought 2–1 victory over the Bulldogs. TMU improves to an overall record of 5–2, 3-0 AAC.

The Bears wasted no time getting on the board, as
Pablo Farrona found the back of the net in the fifth minute off an assist from
Roman Reynolds, giving TMU an early 1–0 lead. The match remained tight through the remainder of the first half, with both sides creating chances, but TMU held firm ahead by one (1-0).
Early in the second half, TWU leveled the match in the 52nd minute on a goal. The Bears quickly responded in the 59th minute, as
Willy Wustrich capitalized on a scoring opportunity, netting what would be the game-winner to put TMU ahead 2–1. Despite sustained pressure from the Bulldogs, TMU's defense, anchored by goalkeeper
Euan Brindley, stood firm to secure the win.
LEADERS
Farrona led the Bears with one goal taking five shots, three on goal. Wustrich followed with a goal of his own while Reynolds contributed an assist and two shots. Goal keeper Brindley had a standout performance in goal, recording seven saves on the evening.
