CLEVELAND, Ga. (August 30, 2025) – On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hosted the inaugural 2025 Labor Day Bear Bash, where the Lady Bears finished the weekend 3-2 in tournament play. Point University was featured being crowned tournament champions, while Tennessee Wesleyan University finished as team runner-up.

DAY ONE – POOL PLAY
The Lady Bears opened competition on Friday with back-to-back sweeps, defeating Piedmont University (25-10, 25-23, 25-22) and Brewton-Parker Christian University (30-28, 25-16, 25-23). TMU then faced Tennessee Wesleyan University to close out day one, ultimately falling in three sets (18-25, 16-25, 19-25).

DAY TWO – BRACKET PLAY
Entering the single-elimination bracket as the No. 4 seed, the Lady Bears met the No. 5 seed Brewton-Parker in the quarterfinal round. TMU battled through five sets to claim the win 3-2 (25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 15-8). In the semifinals, TMU once again faced the No. 1 seed Tennessee Wesleyan in a hard-fought rematch, falling just short in five sets (22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 20-25, 12-15).

Faith Clarkson led the way for the Lady Bears with 53 kills while contributing two solo blocks and 11 block assists.
Julia Fisher added 47 kills of her own and anchored the defense with 69 digs, while
Emma Boland was featured recording 87 assists, 61 digs and 14 serving aces throughout the weekend.

The Lady Bears will travel to Bob Jones University on Wednesday, September 3 to take on the Bruins in a non-conference match-up. Match time set for 4:00 p.m.
