MT. VERNON, Ga. (August 27, 2025) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team traveled to face Brewton-Parker Christian University where the Bears recorded a non-conference win against the Barons, 2-0. TMU rises to an overall record of 1-1.Â

PLAY-BY-PLAY
TMU started the first half hot with shots on goal by
Roman Reynolds and
Guillermo Peino. The Bears continued to keep momentum high, placing another shot on goal from
Willy Wustrich. In the 32nd minute of regulation,
Hudson Reynolds put the Bears on the board with the first goal of the match, assisted by
Jovica Lazarevic. A late corner kick by BPCU gave the opposition a chance to equalize, but the attempt was unsuccessful as both teams entered the half with TMU leading 1–0.

In the second half, Wustrich was first to test the goalkeeper with another look on goal. Both teams continued to battle until Lazarevic extended the Bears' lead with a shot finding the back of the net (2–0), assisted by
Marcos Martinez. TMU kept the pressure on with more shots throughout the half while maintaining control on both ends of the field to ultimately secure the 2–0 shutout victory.

LEADERS
Lazarevic led the way for the Bears with one goal and one assist with three shots, two on goal. Reynolds followed with one goal, while Martinez tallied one assist and two shots followed by Wustrich with three shots. Keeper
