WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (April 5, 2025) - On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team traveled to face St. Andrews University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup where the Bears swept the Knights, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-21). TMU rises to an overall record of 10-10, 5-8 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Alex Bosman started set one off with a kill followed by a kill from Jed Bailey. Both teams traded points back and forth. TMU then went on a five-point run which included two kills by Bosman and a serving ace by Caleb Bosveld. Troy McAlister recorded his first kill late in the first to keep the lead for the Bears. Bosveld, and Bosman both got kills to seal a set one victory, 25-17. Jed Bailey helped put the Bears on the board first in set two. Bosveld and Christopher Zambrana kept the energy going with kills. Adam Shuman made his appearance in the second with a kill to give TMU a three-point lead. Two service aces by McAlister late in the second set followed by an ace by Bosman finalized set two with the win, 25-16. The Bears were first to score in the third with a kill from Bailey. Zambrana recorded a kill to give the Bears a four-point lead. Ayden Thomason recorded a kill to continue the Bears momentum. A kill from Troy McAlister ended the set three with a win, 25-21, sweeping the match, 3-0.
LEADERS
Bosman led the way with nine kills and four serving aces. Bailey followed with nine kills while Bosveld seven kills. Zambrana was featuring recording 29 assists on the evening.
