WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (April 17, 2025) - On Thursday, the Truett McConnell University women's lacrosse team traveled to compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament where the No. 5 seeded Lady Bears faced the No. 4 seed Tennessee Wesleyan University, ultimately suffering a tough lost 11-9. TMU concludes the 2025 season with an overall record of 3-11, 1-4 AAC.
 
PLAY BY PLAY 
Marlo McBrayer started the game off hot with a goal within the first minute of the game (1-0). Shelby Nail quickly followed with a goal of her own (2-0). Three goals by the Bulldogs kept the match-up close as a final goal by McBrayer in the first quarter, tied up the game (3-3). Nail scored the lone goal for the Lady Bears in the second, with TWU adding two of their own, forcing TMU into the half down by one (5-4). In the third, McBrayer scored the equalizer allowing a goal by Aisley Whipple to give TMU the lead once more (6-5). Two final goals in the third by the opposing team, switched leaders on the board as the Lady Bears worked to decrease the slim margin, 7-6. Four early goals in the fourth by the Bulldogs, gave TWU the advantage. Three final consecutive goals by Nail attempted to change the outcome of the game, but was ultimately not enough, falling to a final score of 11-9.
 
LEADERS
Nail led the way with five goals, taking 10 shots, eight on goal. McBrayer followed with three goals, one assist, and three draw controls, while Whipple tallied one goal. Ella Ward was featured recording five caused turnovers, while goalie Sally Marcum had 12 saves and seven ground balls.
