COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 9, 2025) - On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University softball team traveled to compete in an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader match-up against Columbia College, where the Lady Bears recorded back to back wins, 10-4 and 12-2. TMU rises to an overall record of 14-6, 5-1 AAC.Â

GAME ONEÂ
WIN 10-4
In the first inning Kyndall Gipson started TMU off hot with a two RBI double to left field bringing in Hailey Cronic and Emme Souter. A single by Rachel Morgan kept the momentum rolling allowing Gipson to score. A final triple by Grace Folds in the first gave TMU a 4-0 lead. The Lady Bears had another big inning in the fourth with a Souter double, scoring Isabelle Sullivan and Mackenzie Heim. Jenna O'Brein scored from a fielder's choice while Gipson hit a sacrifice fly bringing in Souter once more. The Koalas attempted to catch up with the Lady Bears in the fourth and fifth, scoring four runs. In the sixth hits Elizabeth Bennett and Morgan score the final runs of the game, sealing a win for the Lady Bears, 10-2.
LEADERS
Souter led the way for the Lady Bears in game one going 2-3 at the plate, recording two RBIs and three runs, while drawing one walk. Morgan followed going 2-3, with two RBIs and one run. Gipson tallied four RBI, while Folds had one RBI and Cronic had one RBI and two walks.Â
GAME TWOÂ
WIN 12-2
In the first inning Souter scored off a hit by Boatright. Grace Folds doubled to center field bringing in Gipson, and Cronic ending the first with three runs on the board. Souter recorded a double in the second to let Rebecca Graham and Sullivan score. Tristan Brady singled to left field giving Gipson the chance to see home plate. The third inning Jenna O'Brien singled, and collected an RBI sending Folds home. Boatright scored in the fourth from a hit by Gipson. In the seventh Sullivan doubled to center field bringing in Ashley Fitts. Souter hit a sacrifice fly allowing Sullivan to score. Cassie Boatright hit a homerun allowing O'Brien to record the final run of the game, 12-2.
LEADERS
Gipson was featured going 4-5 at the plate with two runs and an RBI. Boatright recorded three RBIs and two runs, while Souter recorded three RBIs and Folds had two RBIs.Â
