CLEVELAND, Ga (March 4, 2025) - On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team hosted Midway University for a non-conference match, where the Bears bested the Eagles in sweeping fashion, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-17). TMU rises to an overall record of 6-5, 1-4 AAC.

In set one the Bears were first on the board with a kill by Jed Bailey. TMU quickly took the lead with a four point rally, featuring a kill by Adam Shuman and a serving ace by Alex Bosman. The Bears continued to hold their own remaining ahead with a nine point rally, featuring kills by Bosman and blocks by Shuman, Bosman and Bailey. A final kill by Caleb Bosveld ultimately closed out set one with a win, 25-17. Set two began the same as set one with the Bears up first. TMU continued to pull ahead of the Eagles with back-to-back kills by Bosveld leading the charge. A late rally by the visiting team attempted to disrupt the Bears sharp performance but ultimately fell flat as kills by Bosman sealed set two, 25-18. A four point rally by the Bears showed began set three, forcing the Eagles behind early. An early rally by MU saw the visitors battle back to a one point margin. Both teams fought back and forth, eager to earn the win in set three. A final seven point rally by TMU, featuring two consecutive solo blocks by Shuman and kills by Bosman, ultimately put the match to bed as TMU won set three 25-17.
LEADERS
Bosman led the way for the Bears with 16 kills, two serving aces and a solo block. Bosveld followed with 11 kills and six digs, while Shuman had five kills, three serving aces, three solo blocks and two block assists. Owen Orchison tallied 12 digs, while Christopher Zambrana had 32 assists.
