On Thursday-Friday, the Truett McConnell University baseball team hosted Bryan College for a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series where the Bears finished 1-2 on the weekend, falling to a record of 7-18, 4-11 AAC.Â

GAME ONEÂ
LOSS 5-7
Game one action started in the second inning with a
Jake Edwards RBI single to left field. BC responded in the top of the third and fifth with four runs, taking the lead. A sacrifice fly by
Brodie Genter in the bottom of the sixth began a big inning for TMU as TMU scored four runs to take the lead. Two final runs by the Lions in the seventh ultimately shut down the Bears momentum as TMU suffered a hard-fought loss, 7-5.

LEADERS
Williams led the way for the Bears going 3-4 at the plate with one RBI and drawing one walk and recording one stolen base. Edwards followed with two RBIs while
Jacob Karvelas, and Genter had one RBI apiece.

GAME TWOÂ
LOSS 5-7
Caleb Adair put the Bears on the board first in game two with an RBI double allowing Karvelas to score. A sacrifice fly by
Matthew Redmond proved capable of giving Williams the chance to touch home plate as the Bears led the game early, 2-0. A visiting homerun put the Lions first run on the board in the second as both teams battled early. A single by Williams in the third pushed
Dylan Thompson across Homeplate as the Bears worked to hold the lead. Five runs by the Lions through the sixth and seventh inning allowed BC to take the lead forcing the Bears to work from behind. Final hits by Edwards and Genter attempted to recover from the Lions sharp performance but ultimately was not enough falling to a finals score, 7-5.

Williams once again led the way for the bears going 2-3 at the plate with one RBI, one run, and two walks. Redmond followed going 2-3 with one run and one RBI. Adair, Edwards and Genter were all featured recording one RBI a piece. Pitcher
Samuel Turner was featured recording three strikeouts.Â
GAME THREE
WIN 4-7Â
The final game of the series saw the Lions first on the board with two runs. The Bears quickly answered with a double to left field by Redmond bringing home
Caleb Williams. TMU kept the momentum going with a two RBI double by Edwards. TMU capped off the first inning with a sacrifice fly by Genter and a single by
Sawyer Bearden, putting TMU up 5-2. Final runs by the opposing team attempted to change the outcome of the game but was ultimately not enough to stop TMU. A final two RBI double by Williams ultimately sealed game three with a win, 7-4.Â
