CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 7, 2025) - On Friday-Saturday, the Truett McConnell University baseball team hosted No. 18 Faulkner University for a non- conference three game series where the Bears suffered tough loses on Friday (8-4, 12-3) and Saturday (6-2). TMU falls to an overall record of 1-5.Â

GAME ONE LOSS 8-4
Faulkner started the game off hot scoring three runs in the first inning. Both teams traded outs until the bottom of the fourth, when Qwenton Roach singled to left center bringing home Jacob Karvelas and Caleb Williams, 4-2. In the Bottom of the fifth the Bears scored another run caused by an error on the Eagles, advancing Matthew Redmond to home plate (4-3). The Bears fought hard despite FU adding 4 runs in the top of the sixth (8-3). A home run in the bottom of the seventh by Redmond, gave TMU hope at turning around game one, but ultimately could not disrupt the Eagles strong performance, falling to a final score of 8-4.
GAME TWO LOSS 12-3
In the second inning, the Eagles were once again first to put a run on the board. Seven more runs by FU in the following four innings continued to increase the Eagles hold on game two. In the bottom of the fifth the Bears scored two runs (Williams and Karvelas), featuring a sacrifice fly by Sawyer Bearden. The Eagles responded once more with four runs to increase the score to 12-2. A final error on the visiting team gave Redmond space to score the final run for the Bears (12-3).Â
GAME THREE LOSS 6-2
Faulkner kept the momentum going from the first two games and scored five runs in the first inning. A fly out by Redmond in the fifth inning resulted in an RBI capable of sending Qwenton Roach home, 5-1. Redmond brought in the final run for the Bears in the bottom of the eighth. Final score, 6-2.Â
