CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 25, 2025) – On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University Baseball team hosted Bob Jones university for a non-conference midweek match-up, where the Bears recorded the win, 4-3. TMU rises to an overall record of 3-10.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
TMU was first on the board with a two RBI single to center field by
Donovan Parker (2-0). The Bears continued to push ahead in the top of the second when a sacrifice fly by
Matthew Redmond, gave Jacob Karvelos the space to head home (3-0). The Bears continued to hold the lead with no runs allowed by the Bruins, when a homer left center by BJU put the visiting team on the board (3-1). The Bears scored their final run of the day in the bottom of the fifth with another sacrifice fly to center field by
Caleb Williams, scoring Redmond at home (4-1). Three late runs by the Bruins in the eighth and ninth threatened to steal the win from the Bears but ultimately was no match for the strong defensive performance by TMU. Final score, 4-3.

LEADERS
Parker led the way for the Bears recording two RBIs. Redmond followed with one run and one RBI, while Williams had one RBI.
Caleb Adair and Karvelos were featured recording two stolen bases a piece.

UP NEXT
TMU will travel to Laurinburg, N.C., to compete in an Appalachian Athletic Conference three game series against St. Andrews University. Game one set for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, while the series doubleheader is set for Saturday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m.
