LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (February 18, 2025) - On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University softball team traveled to face No. 9 Georgia Gwinnett College to compete in a doubleheader match-up where the Lady Bears suffered a loss in both games. The Lady Bears fall to an overall record of 5-3. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY
Game One Loss 6-1
The first game started out quiet as both teams left the first inning scoreless. GGC was first on the board in the second. Cassie Boatright doubled to left center in the fourth to bring Jenna O'Brien home for the Lady Bears first and only run in the game. The Lady Bears fought hard to keep GGC from adding more to the but ultimately could not contend, resulting in a final score, 6-1.

LEADERS
Cassie Boatright led the Lady Bears at the plate today going 2-3 and earning an RBI.

Game Two Loss 5-2
Both teams showed off their pitching skills going three up, three down in the first. The game remained run less until the third when a run from GGC put the Grizzlies up. In the sixth, a single by O'Brien up the middle brought home Grace Folds, and Isabelle Sullivan. The Lady Bears gave it their all, working to change the outcome of the game, but ultimately fell to a final score, 5-2. 

LEADERS
O'Brien led the Lady Bears in game two going 2-3 at the plate and earning two RBI's. Rachel Morgan recorded three strikeouts, respectfully. 

UP NEXT
The Lady Bears will travel to Jacksonville, Florida on Friday, February 21 to face Trinity Baptist College in a doubleheader match-up. Game one set for 5:00 p.m.
