ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (December 5, 2025) – On Saturday, the No. 10 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team faced No. 15 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Quarterfinal round where a defensive battle stretched into extra time. After 97 minute battle, the Lady Bears ultimately fell 1–0 in overtime, concluding their postseason run after a historic advancement to the national championship quarterfinal stage. TMU closes a remarkable 2025 season with a 19-2-2 record, highlighted by the program's first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Quarterfinals.

Both teams fought through a tight and physical matchup, with neither side able to break through in regulation. TMU generated opportunities in the second half, including a pair of looks from Annabel Trauschke and a shot on goal from Isabella Hodson, but ultimately was unable to connect. The match moved into overtime at 0–0, where the Eagles found their lone goal in the 98th minute to end the contest, 1–0.

Trauschke led the Lady Bears with two shots, both on goal, while Hodson added one shot on goal. Keeper Danica Wittmann recorded three saves to keep the Lady Bears alive into overtime.
