(December 3, 2025) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team hit the road to face Brenau University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match up, where the Lady Bears secured a victory over the Golden Tigers, 68-56. TMU improves to an overall record of 2-6, 1-4 AAC.

The Lady Bears opened the first quarter strong with a layup by
Brinkley Kate Reed assisted by
Madison Aguilera to put TMU ahead early. After a brief push by the Golden Tigers, TMU responded with scoring from Reed and
Alissa Winters, followed by a three-pointer from
Mya Yeh, and a pair of free throws by
Destinee Lovejoy. TMU's offense came alive late in the quarter with threes from
Vanessa Vohs and
Kayleigh Kelley, helping the Lady Bears build a 22–10 lead heading into the second. In the second quarter, TMU maintained control as Reed opened scoring from the free-throw line. Winters added two more free throws, and at the five-minute mark, Reed recorded a three off an assist from Yeh to extend the lead to 29–12. The Lady Bears continued to fire from all directions sending them into halftime holding a strong 36–20 advantage.Â

Out of the halftime break, TMU wasted no time reestablishing momentum. Lovejoy knocked down a three-pointer assisted by Aguilera, and Reed followed with a layup to push TMU into the fourth up 53–38. In the final quarter, Reed scored quickly on a layup assisted by Winters to steady TMU after a brief Brenau run. In the closing minutes, Winters, Yeh, and
Ava Queen knocked down crucial free throws to secure the Lady Bears' 68–56 victory.

Brinkley Kate Reed led the Lady Bears with a standout performance, totaling 27 points, while
Alissa Winters followed with 14 points.
Mya Yeh contributed nine points and five assists, while
Destinee Lovejoy and
Kayleigh Kelley both recorded seven points.Â
