CLEVELAND, Ga. (December 10, 2025) – On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team battled to a hard-earned Appalachian Athletic Conference victory at home, defeating Columbia College 60–57 inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena. TMU rises to an overall record of 3-7, 2-5 AAC.

TMU began the game with strong offensive energy as
Brinkley Kate Reed opened early scoring. Both teams remained even at the end of the first quarter 11-11. In the second quarter, TMU continued to build rhythm behind defensive stops and scoring from
Destinee Lovejoy and
Ava Queen. The Lady Bears maintained a narrow advantage going into halftime after limiting Columbia's scoring opportunities and closing the half with back-to-back baskets, 26-24.
Out of halftime, TMU responded to a Koala push with a scoring run led by Reed, who added multiple key buckets to keep the Lady Bears in front. Kelley provided a spark off the bench, scoring in transition and helping shift momentum back in TMU's favor (44-42). In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bears weathered late pressure, making crucial defensive stands and converting at the free-throw line. Reed sealed the win with composed scoring in the final minutes as TMU held firm to close out the 60–57 victory.
LEADERS
Reed led the way for the Lady Bears with 22 points while also adding four rebounds. Lovejoy followed with eight points and a dominant 12 rebounds, while Queen contributed eight points of her own. Kelley provided a key spark off the bench, adding in six points to round out TMU's offensive production.
