CLEVELAND, Ga. (November 1, 2025) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team hosted Toccoa Falls College inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena, where the Lady Bears earned their first win of the season, defeating the Screaming Eagles 59-54. TMU improves to 1-1 on the year.

In the first quarter, the Lady Bears opened strong with a jumper by
Destinee Lovejoy to put TMU ahead early. TFCÂ responded with a pair of layups to take a brief lead, but
Carsyn Ward's jumper and a set of free throws helped the Lady Bears regain control, holding a slim 10-9 advantage after the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Screaming Eagles press with a 21-point rally, building a 30-17 lead midway through the period. TMU continued to fight with a late jumper by Lovejoy closing the deficit to 33-25 heading into halftime.

Out of the break, the Lady Bears flipped the momentum. TMU held TFCÂ to just nine points in the third quarter while posting 19 of their own.
Madison Aguilera knocked down a three-pointer to spark the comeback, while Lovejoy continued to work in the paint to give TMU a 44-42 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the final quarter, the Lady Bears maintained their composure and extended their lead. Lovejoy and
Brinkley Kate Reed converted crucial baskets and free throws down the final stretch to secure TMU's 59-54 victory over the Screaming Eagles.

LEADERS
Destinee Lovejoy led the Lady Bears with 11 points, going 4-for-7 from the field and 3-for-5 from the free-throw line, while also tallying 10 rebounds.
Brinkley Kate Reed followed closely with 11 points, shooting 5-for-16 from the field, while
Madison Aguilera added nine points, including a made three-pointer.
