DAYTON, Tenn. (October 4, 2025) — On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hit the road for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up against Bryan College, where the Lady Bears battled to a thrilling five-set victory (25-20, 14-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-11). TMU improves to an overall record of 10-9, 3-4 AAC.
PLAY BY PLAY
Set one saw TMU come out strong, with Julia Fisher and Bailey Franklin leading the way offensively. The Lady Bears hitting and solid defense helped them claim the opener 25-20 despite late pressure from the Lions. Bryan responded in set two, capitalizing on TMU's unforced errors and outhitting the Lady Bears to take set two 25-14. Set three was a momentum swing as the Lady Bears regrouped behind key plays from Fisher and Logan Beck to secure a 25-21 win. The Lions once again evened the match in set four, using aggressive play and forcing TMU into errors, taking the set 25-17. The decisive fifth set saw the Lady Bears lock in as key assists from Emma Boland and kills from Fisher allowed TMU to push ahead and close out the match 15-11.
LEADERSÂ
Fisher led the way with 21 kills, 13 digs, and one ace. Franklin and Faith Clarkson followed with eight kills, with Clarkson adding four blocks and Grace Meadors with six. Boland had an impressive performance with 34 assists.Â
