CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 4, 2025) – On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's soccer faced the University of Pikeville for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Bears held UPIKE to a scoreless draw, moving to 6-3-1 overall record, 4-1-1 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first half, UPIKE was first to apply pressure, taking multiple shots, but keeper Euan Brindley stood tall in goal making multiple key saves to keep the match level. An even match-up saw both teams struggled to create consistent chances, with the Bears managing a couple of quality looks before halftime by Cohen Cantrell and Marcos Martinez. In the second half, both teams had chances, but neither could break through. UPIKE launched several attempts, but TMU's defense held firm to secure the 0-0 draw.
LEADERS
Goalkeeper Brindley led the effort with six saves, delivering a confident performance to earn a clean sheet. Offensively, Marco Mandelka and Martinez each had a shot on goal, while Cantrell had one shot.
