Women's Volleyball sweeps Cavaliers on the road

MONTREAT, N.C. (October 28, 2025) — On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University Women's Volleyball team traveled to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Montreat College, where they Lady Bears recorded a clean sweep on the road, putting TMU at an overall record of 12-18, 5-11 AAC.
 
PLAY BY PLAY
TMU started off set one capitalizing on errors paired with a service ace by Emma Boland. Stretches of momentum featured kills by Julia Fisher and service aces from Emily Miolen. The Lady Bears secured the set 25-17, after recording three straight kills by Miolen, Faith Clarkson, and Bailey Franklin. Set two saw TMU coming out hot with back-to-back kills by Clarkson and Franklin and another service ace from Boland. The Lady Bears took advantage of MC's errors and added their own force featuring kills by Fisher and a service ace from Caroline Yeager. Kills by Franklin and Miolen carried TMU to dominate set two 25-10. 
 
Set three showed more momentum shifts between the Cavaliers and Lady Bears, as MC took the lead after strong offensive plays. TMU made their way to take the set back after strong kills by Clarkson, and continued the drive with Fisher putting forth kills and a service ace. After trading multiple points, The Lady Bears managed to take set three 25-23 with kills by Clarkson and Fisher. 
 
LEADERS
Fisher led the way with 13 kills, two blocks, and two aces, while Clarkson and Franklin followed close with 10 kills. Boland was featured recording 31 assists and two serving aces.
 
UP NEXT 
The Lady Bears travel Friday, October 31, to West Point, Ga. to face the University of Mobile and Point University for a non-conference tri-match-up. Match times set for 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
