CLEVELAND, Ga. (October 18, 2025) — On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hosted a tri-match against Bob Jones University and AAC opponent Milligan University, where they split the day winning over Milligan 3-0, and falling short to Bob Jones 2-3, putting TMU at an overall record of 11-15, 4-8 AAC.

TMU 3 – MU 0
In set one, TMU set the tone early with dominant net play. Grace Meadors opened the match with a powerful kill, Faith Clarkson and Julia Fisher added momentum with key attacks leading to a comfortable 25-15 win. Set two proved much tighter. TMU built a mid-set cushion with a service ace and back-to-back kills from Emily Reynolds. Milligan battled back to earn the set point at 24-22, but TMU responded under pressure. Logan Beck and Clarkson contributed kills paired with a block by Grace Meadors to help TMU rally to a 26-24 victory.
The third set featured back-and-forth action with both teams trading leads. Fisher and Bailey Franklin each delivered crucial kills. With the set tied at 25, TMU closed it out with a big block from Franklin, sealing the set 27-25 and the match, 3-0.
TMU 2 – BJU 3
In set one, Truett McConnell set the tone early with Fisher and Claudia Yates providing consistent attacking pressure paired with many key blocks by Clarkson. TMU maintained control throughout, earning a solid 25-18 win. Set two saw a tighter contest with both teams trading points. Fisher and Franklin stepped up with several crucial kills. Service aces from Yates helped TMU build a lead, but Bob Jones fought back, forcing some late rallies. TMU's resilience showed through as they closed the set 25-22.
TMU struggled early as BJU opened with back-to-back service aces, putting the Bears on guard. Yates and Fisher responded with a service ace and kill to get TMU on the board. Clarkson and Fisher added momentum with kills to tie the set, and TMU briefly took control sparked by Clarkson and Kadence Fields at the net. However, BJU came back with tough serving and a series of aces late in the set. Despite a promising start, TMU couldn't hold off the rally. BJU took set three, 25-23.
TMU saw early kills from Clarkson and Fisher in the fourth set. Fisher delivered a service ace and Reagan Daniels added a kill to close the gap mid-set. Meadors and Franklin each contributed at the net, but service errors and missed opportunities hindered a full comeback. Despite late kills from Clarkson and Fisher, TMU dropped the set 25-21.
TMU kept the final set close with key plays from Franklin and Fisher, who each recorded key kills. Clarkson added a late kill to tie the score at 15. Reynolds served up a clutch ace to keep TMU in the game, but the Lady Bears ultimately fell just short, dropping the deciding set 18-16.
LEADERS
Fisher led the way with 30 kills , 50 digs, and four blocks on the day, while Clarkson followed with 20 kills and Meadors with six blocks. Boland recorded an impressive 59 assists and four aces.

The Lady Bears travel Tuesday, October 21, to face Spartanburg Methodist College in an AAC match-up. Match time set for 6:30 p.m.
