Lady Bears suffer tough losses on the road

ATHENS, Tenn. (October 11, 2025) — On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hit the road for a tri-match against Bob Jones University and AAC opponent Johnson University, where the Lady Bears fell short on the day losing to Johnson 3-0 and Bob Jones 3-, putting TMU at an overall record of 10-13, 3-7 AAC. 
 
PLAY BY PLAY 
TMU 0 – JU 3
Set one saw TMU get off to a competitive start, but a mid-set surge by Johnson allowed the Royals to pull away and take the opener 25–17. In set two, TMU looked poised to respond, with strong efforts from Faith Clarkson and Bailey Franklin helping them stay close. However, late attack errors proved costly as Johnson held off the rally to win 25–23. Set three was back-and-forth early, with Julia Fisher and Caroline Yeager delivering key plays to keep TMU level, but once again, Johnson capitalized on timely kills despite TMUs best effort, taking the set 25–20. 
 
TMU 1 – BJU 3
Set one saw the Lady Bears get off to a competitive start, with strong serving and key kills from Fisher and Emma Boland helping them pull away late to take the opener 25–21. In set two, Bob Jones responded aggressively, delivering crucial kills and service aces to hold off TMU's rally and win 25–21. Set three was tightly contested early, with both teams trading points and defensive plays. Bob Jones put forth several key kills, while Truett McConnell's Boland kept the pressure with strong serves. In the end BJU secured the set 25–18. Set four saw TMU fight back hard, matching the Bruins point for point with strong contributions from Claudia Yates and Shae Britt. Despite the Lady Bears late surge, BJU maintained the lead and closed out the set 25–23.
 
LEADERS 
Clarkson led the weekend recording 21 kills and four blocks, while Fisher followed with 17 kills and three blocks. Boland served her team with an impressive 61 assists and 18 digs.

The Lady Bears will travel to face AAC opponent Columbia International on Tuesday, October 14. Match Time set for 6:30 p.m.
