CLEVELAND, Ga. (January 7, 2025) - On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team hosted Bryan College for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Bears fell to a tough loss 86-83. TMU falls to a record of 5-8, 2-5 AAC.

In the first half the Bears and Lions battled back and forth. Made shots by Jadon Yeh, Myles McCrary and EJ Smith kept the game close. The Lions retained the lead through the first half as the Bears trailed by slim margins 36-35. The second half started off hot with the Bears adding to their score first. A late wave of momentum created by three made three-pointers by Smith, attempted to change the outcome of the game but ultimately was not enough falling to a final score of 86-83.Â
LEADERS
Smith led the way with 28 points and six rebounds, going 7-10 at the three-point arch. Yeh followed with 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Arias-Ortega tallied 12 points and McCrary had 10 rebounds.Â

TMU will be back in action inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Thursday, January 9, as the Bears host Reinhardt University in an AAC match-up. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm.
