(January 25, 2025)- On Saturday, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team traveled to compete in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match up against Bluefield College, where the Bears fell to a tough loss against the Rams, 67-70. In the first half, three pointers by Jadon Yeh and EJ Smith put the Bears on the board. A good three point shot by Eli Underwood tied the game early as both teams battled for the lead. Myles McCray followed the action with a good layup pushing TMU ahead. Critical three point shots by Yeh and Smith put the Bears up by seven as TMU entered halftime leading with a score of, 37-30.
Shawn Walker started the Bears off strong in the second half with a made layup. McCrary continued to add to the Bears score with a good layup followed by a made jumpshot by Raul Arias-Ortega. The Rams worked hard to disrupt the Bears, tying the game in the final minutes of regulation. TMU gave it everything they had, but ultimately fell short, final score 70-67.
LEADERS
Smith lead the way for the Bears recording 20 points and six rebounds. McCrary followed with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Walker had 11 points and six rebounds.

TMU will be back in action at home as the Bears host the University of Pikeville Monday, January 27, inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
