CLEVELAND, Ga. (January 15, 2025) - On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team hosted St. Andrews University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up where the Bears defeated the Knights with a final score of 86-75. The Bears rise to an overall record  7-8, 4-5 AAC. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bears started off strong with a four point lead, featuring a made three pointer by EJ Smith. Back to back threes by Smith continued to increase the Bears score. Both teams continued to battle with SAU close to pull ahead, when a crucial three point shot by Shawn Walker kept the Knights at bay. Good shots by Myles McCrary, Preston Tuggle and Jadon Yeh continued to increase the margin as TMU finished the first half leading 41-29. 

The Bears started the second half hot quickly increasing the gap to seventeen points. A made three pointer by Cooper Rubio kept the bears ahead. TMU retained control of the game for the entirety of the second half solidifying a lead in the double digits. Final layups by Raul Arias-Ortega and Mason Smith ultimately sealed the deal on a Bears win, 86-75.

LEADERS 
McCray led the way for the Bears recording a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Arias-Ortega secured 13 points and seven rebounds, while Yeh had 10 points, eight assists and three steals. Tuggle was seen recording 12 points, respectfully.

The Bears will travel on Saturday, January 15, to Johnson University for an AAC match-up. Tip-off set for 4:00 p.m.
