No. 21 Lady Bears show out at home against Columbia College

CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 18, 2024) - On Wednesday, the No. 21 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hosted Columbia College for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Lady Bears outshot the Koalas 30-0, proving capable of recording a 5-0 shut-out win. TMU rises to a record of 4-1-2, 3-0-1 AAC, while CC falls to a record of 3-4, 1-3 AAC.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
In the first half, the Lady Bears were first to act taking two shots by Brianna Hernandez and Eliska Dvorakova. TMU continued to work on offense, taking eight more shots, when finally in the 32nd minute, Dvorakova connected with the back of the net (1-0). The Lady Bears continued their momentum as a good ball by Annabel Trauschke found the foot of Isabella Hodson to lead the game 2-0 heading into the half. 

Hodson set the pace in the second half, scoring the third goal of the game in the 48th minute, assisted by Johnson (3-0). TMU ended the night with two more goals by Johnson and Amayia Lukie (Hodson), ultimately proving capable of securing another shut-out win, 5-0.

LEADERS
Hodson led the way with two goals and one assist, taking seven shots, five on goal. Johnson followed with one goal and one assist, while Dvorakova tallied one goal and nine shots. Lukie was featured recording one goal while Trauschke had one assist.

UP NEXT
The Lady Bears will be back in action at home on Saturday, September 21 as they host Union College for an AAC match-up. Kickoff set for 2:00 p.m. following Senior Day Festivities.
