CLEVELAND, Ga. (September 11, 2024) – The No. 21 Truett McConnell University women's soccer team hit the field at home on Wednesday, where they secured their second conference win over Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Milligan University with a final score of 7-1.

The start of the first half saw Milligan barely fall short of stealing the lead after a goal was recalled due to the visiting team being offsides. TMU quickly saddled up to take control of the field as the home team earned two corner kicks and took four shots at goal. The seventh minute saw
Eliska Dvorakova hit the board for the Lady Bears after a ball from
Lindsey Fowler offered Dvorakova the opportunity she needed in the box (1-0). TMU continued to take four more shots, followed by goal number two of the day shot by
Ashley Johnson, assisted by Fowler. Fowler took matters into her own hands as the 17
th minute proved in her favor as she battled it out in the box(4-0).
TMU entered the second half with the same speed, capable of increasing their advantage to five after a ball from
Kahlen Watters found the foot of Johnson. The home teamed subbed in a few fresh legs, offering
Isabella Hodson the chance at a penalty kick shot that resulted in goal number six for the Lady Bears. Milligan did not go quietly as they tallied their first and only goal of the day in the 80
th minute, but TMU made sure to end on top with the final goal of the day by
Annabel Trauschke, assisted by
Eva Mordick (7-1).
LEADERS
Johnson led the way once again with two goals, two assists and six shots, while Dvorakova had two goals and five shots. Fowler recorded one goal and two assists, followed by Watters who had two assists, Mordick who had one assist, Hodson who had one goal and Trauschke who had one goal.
