CLEVELAND, Ga. (April 5,2024) - The Truett McConnell University baseball team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent and reigning AAC Regular Season Champion Tennessee Wesleyan University, where the Bears fell to a final score of 11-4.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
TMU hit the board first in the bottom of the third with solo homerun by Brodie Genter over the left field fence. The Bulldogs evened the score and stole the lead by the sixth inning, but the Bears didn't back down as a Caleb Ramsey RBI added to the home team's score (2-6). TWU struck again in the eighth and ninth innings, while a final RBI double from Dylan Sargent and Genter sacrifice fly proved not enough as the Bears fell to a final score of 4-11.
LEADERS
Genter went 2 for 3 at the plate, along with tallying two RBIs and one run. Ramsey was seen going 2 for 3 at the plate with one RBI, while Mikel Mascarello and Tanner Griffith recorded one hit apiece and Sargent had one RBI.
