CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 24, 2024) - On Sunday, the Truett McConnell University baseball team closed out the series with Union College, where after battling the Bulldogs through nine complete innings, the Bears suffered a tough loss to a final score of 7-6. 

PLAY-BY-PLAY

Union started the game strong with a three run homer in the top of the first (0-3), but TMU worked to cut at the lead in the bottom with a single run off an RBI single from Tanner Griffith. The third inning proved in favor of the Bears as a RBI double from Caleb Ramsey made the score 2-3, and a misplayed ball hit by Caleb Gentry scored a third run to make the game even. Both teams combatted each others runs with runs of their own for the remainder of the game, featuring a RBI from Caleb Williams, RBI from Ethan Roberts and a Jordan Kenty sacrifice fly by TMU (6-5). The Bulldogs gained momentum in the sixth inning with two runs, ultimately the last to hit the board with the game ending in a final score of 6-7. 

LEADERS 

Roberts led the way going 2 for 3 at the plate with one run, one RBI and one walk. Williams followed going 2 for 2 at the plate with one run, one RBI and one walk, while Gentry went 1 for 4 with one run, one RBI and one walk.
