CLEVELAND, Ga. (February 27, 2024) – On Tuesday, the Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team hosted Life University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, where the Bears lost to a tough battle with the Running Eagles, 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-23). TMU falls to an overall record of 4-10, 0-6 AAC, while LU rises to a record of 8-3, 4-2 AAC.

Set one began with the Bears first on the board with a block assist by
Adam Shuman and
Troy McAlister. Both teams battled early for the lead when a five-point rally by LU sent the visiting team ahead. TMU did not lose heart, forcing a four-point rally of their own, featuring a service ace by McAlister and a kill by
Alex Bosman, proving capable of tying up the set. The Bears held on the entire set, pushing ahead of the Running Eagles by four points with back-to-back kills by Bosman, when a late four-point rally by LU threatened TMU's lead. The Bears continued to work together, eager to take the first set, when two final kills by the Running Eagles took away the win, 23-25. In set one, LU found themselves up first with the Bears not far behind with a kill by McAlister. Both teams fought back and forth trying to hold down a lead, when a five-point rally by the Running Eagles, created a marginal scoring deficit. The Bears worked hard, attempting to recover from LU's strong start, when a finally kill by the visitors stole set two, 17-25. In the final set the Bears fell behind early as the Running Eagles found the lead. TMU did not lose hope, working together to change the outcome of the match, with four kills by Bosman contributing to a tied game. The Bears battled the Running Eagles, attempting to take set three, when a final kill by the visitors took set three, 23-25.

LEADERS
Bosman led the way for the Bears with 14 kills and a solo block.
Caleb Bosveld followed with four kills, while Shuman, McAlister and
Stephen Dixon recorded three kills apiece.
Wensky Saintilmond was featured recording 21 assists on the evening.
